No spark, no fuel

No spark, no fuel
'83 Accord, manual transmission.
No spark, and no fuel pressure.
Fuel pump works if I jump it with power from the battery.
This isn't my car, I know old Volvos real well but not Hondas.
Any suggestions, usual suspects?
Thanks.

Re: No spark, no fuel
You won't get any fuel pressure until the fuel pump relay receives signal from the negative terminal on the coil that it is firing. If you're not getting spark, there's a good chance your distributor is just toast or coil is burned out. Have you tried new plugs / wires / cap / rotor / coil? Once you start getting spark again, your fuel pressure will return.

Re: No spark, no fuel
I'm not exactly sure what the resistance should be on your coil, but check this guide:
http://autorepair.about.com/od/troub...l-test-ohm.htm
I could check what the resistance would be on my coil for my 84 and 81 Accords when I can get access to the books later. It should be similar if not the same...
I think there's a similar resistance test procedure for the distributor, but it's not 100% definitive. And I'm not sure what it is off the top of my head...
