can someone tell me what exactly a shroud is?

 

more like a cover.... I used to have a goped (motorized scooter thingy thing) and had to order a new "engine shroud" which meant "engine cover"

Who told you that a shroud was interfering with your gears? What exactly is the problem and who told you that a shroud was the source of it?

 

A shroud is just a plastic cover. Your electric fans sit in a shroud, some people call fender liners, shrouds. You have a tranny shroud under your car (most cars have them). I don't see how a shroud would be interfering with your gears.

 

a guy said that his tranny was grinding gears sometimes until he took the shroud off.
