Best way would be to take it apart and have the valves and combustion chamber glass beaded... but you said you don't want to take it apart.
(thats what I used to do. clean and rebuild heads)

I just realized I have my old D15B7 head in my shed.. I went to look at it again and saw the valves are filthy. I can't see how to even clean them . Just chipping it off seems to work. The stuff caked on it is so hard it feels like cement. Does yours feel like that?

Yea you could use carb spray and a brush (WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! CARB SPRAY IN THE EYE SUCCCCKS!!) but you wont be able to get the buildup on the back side of the valve.

You don't need to clean those. They're going to look like that 10 seconds after you start your car again.

You can try to Seafoam your motor and that might take a little off but i think Archidictus is right its just going to come back 10-15 seconds anfter you start the car
