Default coolant(anti-freeze) leak, need help ASAP

just to be clear there are only two hoses that connect the radiator to the engine on a d16y7 correct? i cant find anything wrong with my radiator and it appears that my hoses are fine but im leaking cooklant. i checked the resovoir to make sure that it wasnt muddy though it does seem my head gasket is leaking. the coolant in the resovoir is still green but somewhere i have a leak. the drain plug is still in tact and seemingly functional the radiator cap is on snug so what else could it be? i know for sure its leaking somewhere cause i just filled up the radiator and resovoir after the car started smoking lightly the other day and now the resovoirs almost empty again after driving the car for like 30 minutes. any help is great but im trying to fix this problem RIGHT NOW so please help ASAP

Run down to your local parts store and rent a coolant leak finder. It works by plugging into the neck on the radiator and then you pump it up to put pressure into the coolant lines and system. Pump it up to about 16 or 17 psi and if it's external (lines, fittings, etc.) it will be apparent where you are leaking from.

It could very well be that your water pump is leaking. That sucks, but is not a big deal. If you don't already know how to do it, you can find out how in many spots. Just search and you can probably find what you need. If not, just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

a pressure tester is a good way to verify where the engine coolant is leaking, but you still have your heater coolant hoses aswell and the ones leading to your intake manifold. You need to be specific where the coolant is leaking from. It would be a shame if it wasn;t the water pump and you changed it and the timing belt to find out it was still there.

i'm having the exact same problem with my eg right now. Last summer it kept on over heating and i found my self having to add anti-freeze more than usual. I never noticed the leak before, but after driving my car today i noticed that the temperature gauge just spiked up really hot so i stopped the car and noticed antifreeze pouring out of the front of my car and i noticed my fan wasn't turning on. I let the car cooldown and had to get home which wasn't too far away so i drove it, then after about 2-3 minutes it started to overheat but this time it started bogging out and smoking up like crazy so i immediately pulled over to put water into my rad then drove home.

Could this problem be the water pump? radiator? Fan?

It doesn't leak when the car is cooled down, only when the car starts to warm up

im about to do the coolant pressure test now, hopefully ill find something and report back. is it just a general rule that you replace the timing belt when replacing the water pump? i seem to remember hearing this somewhere but aint so sure. appreciate all the help and ill be back on soon to let you know how it went

oh one more thing; right before i started experiencing the leak i replaced my alternator. is it possible the tention on the belt is the problem its on there pretty snug to the touch it felt the same as the one on there before but i was just wondering if that might effect the water pump or if there completely seperate entities

so this pressure tester is busted or something, i spent like 5 min. non stop pumping this thing and al i hear is quack quack quack...no pressure what so ever is building up. included in the kit was a pump w/hose atteched to go to "a" radiator. also included was a chrome tube piece which locks into the hose peice(radiator port) and fits fairly snug on top of my radiator but does no lock in place; and a blue plastic tube which seems to have the same function as the chrome. last but not least is this little black rubber washer which fits in there on the bottom side but seems to do jack. maybe im an idiot what am i doing wrong?
