Default LED on top of the steering column?

What is the small LED that is on the steering column near the gauge cluster? Mine is on for some reason. I've been googling forever trying to figure out what it is.

Oh, ok. So when the LED is on what does that mean? Or is it always on?

Its constantly on and I think it might be an aftermarket. Its a 99 SH and I have a fob for it that doesnt work. The alarm might be busted or it might be the door lock. The SH has a strange locking mechanism. Theres a silver small switch and a larger plastic switch. To lock the passenger side door you can just press the silver switch down but for some reason this doesnt lock the drivers side. You have to push the large plastic one down to lock the driver side. Was this intended?

92 never came with a factory alarm. They didn't even come with leather or an h22. Come to think of it I don't think ANY 4g had a factory keyless feature.

Hiro: The silver switch is the auto door switch.. the big one is the actual lock. It doesn't lock the drivers side because they don't want you to lock yourself out without your keys. BUT, if you hold the door lever open and hit the switch it will lock.
