Default Fuel problems

I have a 91 civic with a gsr engine and type R head. I upgraded my fuel pump from the stock si one so I never go lean. With the new fuel pump sometimes when I come to stop or slow down (engine in nutrual idling) my car dies. It never dies just reving it up in nutral while not moving. I have a fuel pressure gauge under the hood and when the pump works it works great and I know I don’t have a leak somewhere because when I prime my fuel system before I start it, the gauge doesn’t drop for hours. I also know that I am getting power back to the pump because I have tested it with a multi-meter in my hand and when I was moving and my car started to die I was looking at the meter and it said 12-14 volts until my RPM's went to 0. After my car dies I can hear the pump make noise to prime the system but it doesn’t pump any fuel because my pressure gauge doesn’t go above 0-10 and my engine doesn’t start. When the pump works I get about 45psi in idle about 55psi reving up. Can enyone tell me whats wrong? This is the second brand new fuel pump that has done this to me.

Sounds like when you stop, you're fuel is behaving just like physics says it should - sloshing about. Do you have the fuel pump pickup installed in the original location of the stock pickup?

I used the intank filter that came with it and then I put the stock intank filter that came with it on and it didnt make a difference. I used the stock bracket so every thing is the same height. It has also done it to me when I have more than a half of tank of gas so that cant be it.
Any other ideas?

are you sure you're not hearing the relay click and the pump is not running? Maybe you shoud try another relay or solder the one you have....???

I know the relay is good because I hooked my multi-meter up on the pump side of the relay and I dont have any connections on the pump side just a solder. When my car dies I have held a multi-meter in my hand and saw that I had 12-14 volts on the pump side of the relay (wire that is hooked up to my pump) until my car die says 0rpms. So my when my car starts to die i still have the 12-14 volts until its dead.
Any other ideas?
