Default i need a little help with vtec

okay so i recentley did a b16 swap into my 94 del sol, me and a few friends did the swap we got it running, but we we're afraid to try to wire vtec ourselves since none of us had done it before so i took it to a shop and got them to wire vtec for me, its a pretty repetuable shop, so i dont think its something they did wrong. But i got my car back yesterday and the mechanic there told me i needed to replace my knock sensor before vtec would engage. Due to it being broken either during shipping or during the transplant..not really sure.

But the problem im running into is, that im running a chipped p28, its a skunk2 chip that isnt even supposed to look for a knock sensor.

am i just an idiot and need to replace the knock, or could there be another fault in the vtec components?

i need help asap.
all replies are appreciated.

you should bring the ecu somewhere and tell them what your specs are. they will setup everything that is needed. cant be more than 100 bucks cause i got a full chipped ecu for 70 by me.

why did u pay a shop to hook up like 2 wires for u

most shops just agree to do whatever the customer asks
no matter what

they probably didnt even know what to do

nah, im sure the shop knew what they were doing, its a place called stagesixmotorsports they've had several of their cars appear in big named magazines and they had awards and **** all over the shop.

the only reason i took it to the shop, was because wiring intimidates me, and i needed my exhaust installed as well, and well..since im not much of a welder i let the pro's handle it.

they only charged me 50 bucks to wire vtec and do the exhaust.
