Flashing maintenance required sign?
Well I just replaced my radiator in my 2000 integra gs auto the other day. The first day nothing was wrong but the second day when I started my car in the morning and the maintenance required sign came on and started to flash. It only flashes for like 20 seconds then the maintenance required sign gos off. Now it does it every time i start the car. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks for your time.
I am assuming it is just a coincidence that this happened around the same time he did some maintenance. It is probably just the normal every 7,500 mile timed warning. I believe it is every 7,500 miles. Check under the dask under the steering wheel and there should be a little square button u can press.

I know on my 99 GSR the light is on mileage timer. Like i said before there is little square button under the dash that will remove the light instead of having to take it to the dealership and pay them to do it. Just turn the key on for power in the car without starting it and hold down the button for a few seconds, it should flash and turn off.
your right, but the light he says flashes then goes off. when my maintanace light comes on it stays on till I hit that button. so I really dont think that is iit, but I wouldn't worry about it since it goes away.

it flashes for a while, then it lights up and stays on.
to make it stop, you do the same thing as you would if it were to stay on.

I would try it. It doesn't hurt to hit the button when you might not need to. It might however reset the mileage count(unsure).

yes, it will reset the mileage count for the maintenance required light.
There really isnt a point to this light, it just helps you keep track of your scheduled maintenance and whatnot... oil changes, certain mileage checkups/tuneups and whatnot.
There isnt anything wrong with your car, this light isnt even really tied into anything.. its just programmed to come on at certain mileage increments.

i think the light just comes on to warn you that you may need a maintance soon..thats what mine did..just hold down the button until it goes away as others have stated above and it'll go away..
The recomended maintenance procedures and mileages can be found in the owners manual if you were interested in seeing what honda recomends that you do at this point, they are also in the chilton manual, but as stated above you don't HAVE to do anything or follow the light....
Mine has came on 2 times since i have had mine i just reach under the steering wheel and hold the button in till it goes out and then shut off ur car then turn it on and it goes away for another long time
Wow, lots of wrong answers thus far. The "MAINTENCE REQUIRED" light is just a reminder to change your oil. It is on a mileage timmer and it will come on and start flashing at about 4500 miles and then stay on when you hit 5000 miles (these used to be the old maintence specs on hondas).
Look under the dash, there is a square button thats tucked up under the dash a bit. Turn your car on and hold the button down for about 5 seconds. That will reset the light.
Again, all that does is remind you that its been 5000 miles since maintaince was last performed.
