Removing Key Ignition Cylinder
I have recently purchased a new key ignition and want to replace it with my current one. I was wondering how would I go about doing this. I want to attempt to do it myself because I just checked with my local autoshop and I can't afford it. I am student at UC San Diego and buying the new ignition already costed me a fortune. I spent around 20 minutes googling on how to do this, but there were no promising results because I think this type of information shouldn't be publicized. However if someone would like to show me privately I would really appreciate it.
My Integra is currently in my garage and I have taken out the plastic casing above and below the wheel. I see the key ignition which looks cylinder with all sorts of screws and wires. The ignition is facing horizontal. Thanks in advanced.

okay dude. If you need to replace the lock itself, so you can use your old keys. You will have to take the lock control out wich is where the key inserts too. Just push down on the little hole and pop it out. If you need to replace the whole ignition unit you will need to use a chizzle and knock those 2 screws that are on the steering coloumn.
I am still quite confused. You made it seem easy, however when I tried it I was lost. The ignition is so strong and tight and nothing will budge. I tried unscrewing several screws but it's still like a rock.
hmm.. to take that out you have to take out the steering column. thats why the ignition cylinder is attached to a metal bar like ****. when thieves break your steering column the cylinder pops down and such... what you need to do is break the column but keep it intact so you can put it back in.
that would be in back of the ignition cylinder correct? It would be somewhat more to side of the wheel right? How would I go about removing that part? I even tried hammering it and nothing. I figure that is why it costs so much to remove and replace.
