Check engine light with header
A guy a work was thinking about getting a header for his 06 Accord EX. Another guy said if you do, the check engine light will come one. Is this true?
I don't have an Accord, or a header so I don't know.
Thanks

As long as you reinstall the O2 sensor you shouldn't get a CEL. And I assume this is on a 4-cyl, since you can't get headers for the V6...

Yeah, it's a 4 cylinder. Does pretty much all aftermarket headers have a place to put the O2 sensor back?
I heard this came up because one guys said you have to "ghetto sim" it to fake the system. Not sure what that means.

why not?
why not?
The front O2 sensor (the one in the manifold) is used to fine-tune the fuel/air mixture. Without it, it runs rich; & eliminating it (simulating it) doesn't really help performance anyway.
Most headers have a fitting in the proper place to install the sensor, so why not use it?
