Default Some Questions that i have on my build

Im new to the Boosted game. and i wanna come in the right way. Ive always been a Allmotor person. Then i took a ride in this guys Boosted Teg and i loved it.

But i dont know alot about sizing turbo's or what the stock sleeves can acutally handle. So i thought i would ask some questions.

My Goal is 450-500 WHP

Im not sure exactly what size injectors to get. to suit my power needs

Turbo i am undecided on what to get. Because i dont wanna be super laggy. i was thinking a SC61 or something. id like a decent spool time.

Tuning will be done on E85 and SuperDave from the whipfactory is who i plan on having tune the car.

My setup

99 GSR Block
95mm Eagle Stroker Kit with 81.5mm Arias Pistons 9:1 CR
Eagle Rods
Stock Sleeves

Head
00 ITR head. Shaved. .003"
Omni valve springs and retainers
Omni Valves
ITR Cams

Trans
ITR 4.785 FD LSD
Clutch (Undecided)

Turbo (Undecided)
Intercooler- Perrin backdoor for SRT-4

If you want to make that kind of power I stongly recommend sleeving your block.

Here is what I did

AEBS sleeved block
8:1 Ross pistons
Crower rods
garrett t3/t4 turbo
RC 750cc injectors
Hondata ECU

to make 500whp you'll be over 20lbs of boost and that type power will crack a stock block.

I got
bare block
head
trans
Nuekin Top mount manifold
Intercooler
Hondata S300 in a P28

I figured the upped displacement will help the turbo going a little sooner.

andi know you dont have to have your motor sleeved if you want 500 whp. ive seen dave do it. i know mase has done it quite a few times. and lets not forget Stoopid.. if you got a good tuner then it is possible..

Just because im a new guy doesnt mean i havent done SOME Research on what i can accomplish. i know my goals i know what i wanna do. but im just having trouble deciding the the internals, fuel and Turbo

O....M....G, you might be the first new guy in H-T.com history that has a clue and has already done some researching!!!!! To answer your question, yea the SC61 would be decent. I'm sure others might throw the GT35R in here since it's the current bandwagon, but still a good turbo. There are a few thread floating around here that list tons of ls/vtec setups and other setups. You could review this thread and kind of get a feel for what others are running in the whp range that you are seeking.

Nevertheless, to you for being like the 1st new guy ever to have some sense before posting

i like the GT35R. but it seems to be more of a PEAK turbo.. Now Maybe the GT30R could get me what i want. i like great midrange backed up by top end.

Ive thought about the LS crank in the GSR motor.

Im caught between Rev Happy or off the line torque.

Im gonna be running some 22" slicks for the track and some 215's or 225 BFG's for the street.

noones going to argue that you can make 500whp on stock sleeves, it comes down to reliability and comfort. if its the rare track day i dont think you'll have any issues. if you want to be running close to 500whp alot then i would get it sleeved.

heres my opinion, ditch the stroker kit and just pick up an ls crank. the honda cranks are great. the obvious choice for a turbo for you is the gt30r for 500whp.

500whp on stock sleeves?? Been done yes, advisable not likely. Push the limits all you want, its your engine. But YOU will pay if it blows, just somethin to keep in mind. You got a$$loads of cash and lots of time, then hell yes!! Go for it!! If not you might wanna rethink. $1K is a small price to pay, don't b cheap.

Oh, and E85............ur n00bness is showin, the search option works great for "e85." We had so much hope for you to *sniffle*

My concern with E85 is sizing the injectors because i know you need more fuel with the E85. so i wasnt sure exactly what size injectors i needed to get.
