okay before i weilded on my downpipe to my exaust i could hear my bovwhen i would switch gear..so i weilded my downpipe to the exaust i cant hear the bov nomore what do you think is wrong with the bov? do i have to adj it?

do i have to hook the bottom vac line up and where do i if i have too?

 

bottom vac line? are u talking about a wastegate? the blowoff vavle only has one nipple for a vac line and it should be hooked up to a vac source.

 

they two nipple on the greddy bov one on the top and one on the bottom.

thats normal, loosen the adjusting screw if you want it to open easier

 

okay i put it almost all the way out but still no noise do you think its a leaking intercooler piping? or my bov too close to the fan?

 

coudl be the vacuum source is weak, coudl be the wastegate is partially open, coudl be a boost leak in the charge pipes. How is the lag? MAybe your exhaust is restrictive and your not making enough boost under regular driving to get air from the bov.
How much psi does it take to make a sound? My blitz woudnt even open if it was under 4 psi

 

Your only going to hear the blow off valve purge when theres pressure to release, if your not hearing anything when your not under load its because your not creating boost.

 

but i dont understand when i was running open downpipe you can hear the bov when driveing without a load.... weird...

sounds like your spring is about broke.

 

are you sure you have it hooked up to a good vacuum source, and the sound you were hearing wasnt compressor surge? I had my top port going to my GE vacuum manifold and it wouldnt work for ****. I had to switch and ran it to a vac source right off the IM and it fixed the problem. Also I had the bottom nipple running into a pre intake vacuum source (i.e. a fitting in the charge pipe right next to the BOV). The type s is a very chirpy bov valve even out of decent boost. Dont mess with the screw just to get the proper sound out of it. Start the car, let it warm up and look inside the BOV, adjust the screw until it does not leak at idle. I did mine until it touches the seat, then a hair tighter. If you rev the engine just a little in neutral you will see the valve move up a hair, but you will not get the sound effects. I had the real type-s, i dont know if yours is a knock off or not but mine would be chirpy even out of heavy boost. In boost its the beautiful type-s "chirp".

its not broken cus when i hit boost i can it blow but when i drive reg. it dont make no noise but i hooked the top one to the intake manifold and left the bottom one open..its the real type s

 

the open downpipe was letting the turbo "breathe" better, so it was building boost quicker. now that you have the full exhaust on, it wont spool as soon as it used to

and why is your radiator like that?

 

had to make it lean...lol untill i have time to modifid the crossmember bar.

 

If you can hear it after boosting currently but not when driving normal/slow, its working fine. If you could hear it all the time before, it wasn't working properly before.

What size is your exhaust, stock? If its close to stock (cat, resonator, baffled muffler) it will be very restrictive compaired to open downpipe ('unwelded'). When you have almost no exhaust on your turbo, it will make 1-2psi *very* quickly. To give you an idea how little is needed to make boost on a full-exhaust car, the boosted Hondas I've driven with cruise control could produce ~5psi using cruise to accelerate.
