Help me decide on the upper echelon of 6x9's!!! Thanks!
Ok, so here's the deal, I have a '91 Caprice with 4 blown speakers, The rear deck speakers (6x9) and mad easy to replace and the fronts (4x6) I might replace with 6.5's in a custom setup....
but for now, I'm looking for get a gooood set of 6x9's for the rear deck. I was looking @:
Infinity / JBL
Memphis
JL
Boston
MB Quart
Focal
Can anyone please help me pick on, perhaps a certain model or maybe something you may know from experience. Thanks. I really hate listening to blown speakers

FOCAL are hand made and tested extremely strictly. They are some of the best made and sounding speakers on the market. Model # is 690 CA1. It's a 2-way coaxial 6X9.

truthfully i wouldnt waste your money on 6x9s. not only would you get better results from a component set, but rear fill should be the last thing you consider if you want decent SQ
http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6900.html then when you get the fronts done, remove the tweeter and use them as mid-range/mid-bass drivers, power them with a 2x100W amp and you will be impressed.

this question requires more information. What are your long term goals? What is your budget? Which head unit? Will you amplify the 6x9s?
I like JL TRs on head unit power and XRs/ZRs on an amp.

Long term goals: Clear system - good bass - not looking to replace speakers anytime soon after this,
budget: sub $200
Headunit: Currently Eclipse mp3 unit, but going to be replace with my alpine 9813 with sub out
Amplify the 6x9's: prolly not, but I will run a 600W mono amp (infinity) for my 12" sub (infinity perfect)
hope this helps, let me know
