Cars not starting

Default Cars not starting

I just replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires and now the car is not starting, it turns over but does not want to start....all my connections look good, what could it be?

That's my guess. Or you forgot the screw on the rotor(you wold probably hear some kind of strange noise with this though) .

car ran for a couple seconds then died.....i'll recheck the plug wires but i'm pretty sure they are on right

spark, fuel, compression. You are missing one of those. If you have spark, check fuel. Check your fuel pressure, make sure your fuel pump is turning on. If fuel is there and spark is there, do a compression test. Then go from there.

Did you gap the plugs? I don't think they come pre gapped.

no i just tightned the plugs so they were tight but not to tight.....how do i gap them? *sorry never done spark plugs b4*

autozone......valucraft spark plugs they were like 1.39 each. Just called and ask, autozone said they <U>are not </U>pregapped. Looks like thats the problem....

not that this has anthing to do with the problem, seeing as it is solved... I just thought i would make a point abou the spark fuel compression thing. If it was spark, its pretty easy to tell. but just because a car is cranking and cranking and not starting isnt always spark. on my rx7 it turned out to be the fuel filter.

Glad you fixed the problem

The point he was tryingto make is you need three things to start the car, spark, fuel, compression. It had to be one of those.
