3rd Gear Grind?

Default 3rd Gear Grind?

Hi i have a 94 civic 2 door 5 speed, and I have this annoying problem

Everytime i shift to 3rd gear, it feels like it grinds and makes a noise...i don't know much about this kinda stuff so i was wondering if you would wanna help

p.s. it doesn't grind if i double clutch

Ha, 3rd gear Syncros sound fucked.

If your tranny fluid is fine (full) then you can try GM syncromesh, that's up to you.

If that doesn't fix it, you can replace the syncros, but usually it's easier/cheaper just to get a new tranny.

time to replace the synchro. a 'new' tranny could have the exact same problem, if you have any mechanical talent i'd recommend replacing the synchro.

Well im buying a new d15b motor from hmotorsonline, so i might as well just get the tranny for 175$ extra

If you have a '94 civic coupe like you're saying and you didn't mention that the engine was swapped, that means it has the original engine - that also means that that original engine is a D-series. That means that your current transmission will bolt right up to the JDM D15b w/o any problems.
