some while back, I posted that I bought an engine and couldnt find out what kind it was. Well, I did. Now, to start, I have a d16z6 motor, runs good. but, has alot of miles and a warped head. I bought this motor from a junk yard and they said it was a d16z6. No problem. I was happy enough to find one, to not even check. But, I trusted this guy. Well, it is a f23a1 engine. A good motor? Or a sorry buy for $400. Also, will this head fit onto my d16z6 block? Please, someone help. Thanks

 

u bought a f23 when you were looking for a d series motor ? thats like trying to buy a grape and coming back with an orange. the motor is fine but i wouldnt have bought it and the trouble of installing it.. but im sure someone will chime in

 

Its a motor from an accord. Its a little under the H22 as far as power but some ppl like them better. Ive seen some civics with them in it.

Its a good bang for the buck engine if youre willing to put a lot of time into swapping it. I dont even think they make swap mount kits for them. I think most ppl modify an H22 mount kit and modify it. If you would rather have something easier to put in, I wouldnt waste my time on it and go get my money back.

 

the thing is, he wont refund my money. so now i am stuck with it.... how about the head swap?

 

Head wont work. you use the same mount kit as a h22 but no modiffications to the mounts.

ok...guess I can try to sell it on ebay or something. Its got a nice port and polish job just done to it, along with the intake manifold and throttle body.... so if anyones interested.

Yeah man I don't think it would be worth it for you to try and put it in there... Although I gotta say, a friend's stock *** 4 door 93 accord keeps up to my ls swaped hatch, its amazing.

I had a f23 in my hatch and the torque is AMAZING!!
