1994 Teggy GSR: Alrighty.... my speedometer is currently not working and I'm guessing it's because of a loose connection somewhere. (As a result, my Odometer isn't working either, and my VTEC doesn't kick in.) The car's boosted and tuned with VTEC on 91 octaine fuel and I can't really race or push the car above 4400 without potentially damaging my motor. I'd like someone to help me identify which sensor on my tranny is my VSS, as well as how I should go about correcting this problem. Thanks in advance, and if anyone could provide me with a link with pictures of a GSR tranny and the location of the VSS, I'd greatly appriciate it.
lol I literally had the EXACT same problem after changing the clutch on my 94 gsr. All i had to do was replace the VSS. Which is on top of the transmission and it's orange.

I've never seen an orange VSS...

Vtec is not working because your ecu isnt getting a signal from the vss to activate it. If your vss isnt working vtec will not activate.

He already stated that in his first post. You should read next time.

well thanks guys i ended up finding it myself with a little poking around.... much easier once u take the intercooler piping/intake off... sittin right there on top of the tranny. i tried cleaning it off and re-tightening it to no avail... looks like ill be making a trip to the junkyard soon. (i dont really feel like paying $224 for a new one.)
