Default Post up your pics of fuel pump mount shots....

Ive been debating where to finally mount my pump. I have it mounted but dont like the placement. I dont want it to be starved for fuel. Check out these pics below and tell me which is better.

This one is the way I have it mounted now...will it work fine? This isnt my car but it is what I went off of when mounting it.

Or something like BoostedJeff's even tho he remounted it. Dont know if he has posted pics of the new mount job but which of the 2 would work better?

Just two different car/mount setups for opinions. Which one do you all like better.

Thanks in advance guys/gals

i have question about those sump setups. do you really need a sump welded or can i just poke a hole and put in a AN fitting to the pump. i won't run my car low on gas just curious, we'll even if i did that i would still have to weld that fitting in stupid idea i guess. i just don't want to drop the tank. yeah i know even if i drill the spark might ignite the vapor in there oops dangerious. yeah i better drop the tank

Just remember that aeromotive pumps are gravity feed. You would want the feed line to be higher than the pump. I had a problem with my aero 1000 mounted the second way, so I kept the mounting position but went with a Weldon pump. Oh btw GET YA SOME

lol....thanks man. I knew they were gravity fed but the way its mounted in the 1st pic it is still somewhat below the sump outlet. i guess ill leave it that way...OR go with a weldon. Do you have a link for a good deal on a weldon pump?

how can a high volume/flow pump be gravity feed.

Its going to pull fuel from the tank from just being a pump.

Explanation?

i remounted mine since the pics above, i used 3/4inch teflon round stock just to make the pump a little more even with the sump.

^^ has he ran it like that yet?

seems like that feed from the sump to pump would cause issues

ha thats my car in the first pic
i used a bracket mounted to the frame and rubber spacers between the pump and bracket to lower the pump to the bottom of the tank,
i have run the car till empty everyday driving but at the track i put aleast half a tank and its been fine.ialso drilled a vent hole in my gas cap to stop the tank from pressurizing and splashing the fuel around and sucking air bubbles.
i also have the eliminator pump so its a little beefier then the a1000

as for peters...it does look a little higher then it needs to be but if it works then i shouldnt be soooo worried.

everyone talks about how the pump has to be lower then the sump but wouldnt it just need to have the fuel level above the pump and not where the sump is? wouldnt it use gravity pressure and such to keep fuel in the line?
