Default time for oil change...which oil filter?

I ahve a dc4 ls with close to 98k on it. Which filter should i be looking at. i was reading that s2 filters are smaller and can create more oil pressure but does it fit on my b18b1? I searched and came up with a lot of different answers. last oil change i ran mobil1 oil filter. im looking for an oem filter that has good filtering capabilities, increased/stock oil pressure and good flow. as far ive read nippon, fram(canadian), hamp(jdm), filtech(usa) are all oem. as well as the s2. also read that toyo and filtech are the same. im currently leaning towards toyo's s2000 filter cause ive heard good things about it. is there a large or small size like hamp?

The S2K filter is bigger than an integra filter and it fits my b18c no problem. Just get whatever works for you.

I filters a filter IMO. I would just go with a purolater and mobil 1. The oil is what really matters.

Are you trying to say "a filter is a filter, IMO"

If so,

btw the design of the filtech filter offers higher oil pressure. </TD></TR></TABLE>

I've switched to Nippon filters which I picked up at NAPA. Cut one open and it looks very nice; steel endcaps, filter material well pleated, filter material quality looks nice. I wouldn't hesitate at recommending them.

i usually just use fram, since it seems like a well known brand, but i ALWAYS use mobile, except this one time, i tried the castrol gts shiit or whatever on my 3000gt, and it caused smoke to come out of my exhaust, flussed that shiit out, and replaced with mobile a few days later, and worked fine, so .. fram + Mobile oil

Might want to switch to something else.

I didn't know about this but I will no longer be using Fram in my wife's car or in my truck. But for my GSR I use OEM honda S2K

Was that Mobil oil conventional or synthetic?

I have over 300K miles and counting using Castrol GTX and Pure One oil filters. I don't need any more proof of their quality than my real world experience. When I pull the valve cover, the head is clean as a whistle. I still get 340 miles to the tank averaging 32 mpg with city/hwy mixed driving. Maybe I will rebuild the engine at 350K miles whether it needs it or not, lol, because I have cams and pistons just begging to go in.

Oh, im not sure was it the conventional or synthetic, i use Mobile1, the one that cost like 5-6 bucks a liter ..

and i was before, in my 3000gt, i used the Castro GTX high Mileage one, the green bottle, with a Fram filter, and that caused my car to produce some white smoke from the exhaust, i changed it to mobile, and no more smoke. so yeah ..

is people saying the Honda or Napa filters are better ??

You probably still are getting some, because many dealerships still have them on the racks. Honda dealer is fine. As for how much they cost, i don't remember off the top of my head. You could probably look at prices online for those dealerships that have their parts department online, or go to a few local dealerships. I remember going to my closest honda dealership and they wanted like 4 bucks more than the other dealership.
