low compression?
Ok, so, my car smokes black smoke, and burns about 2 quarts of oil every 2 weeks. Today I ran compression check and cylinder 1 had 150, #2 had 150, #3 had 145, and #4 had 165. Spark plugs had black carbon biuld up (running rich?), idles rough, and kind of low. What does this sound like? timing belt maybe?
lol, its not your timing belt.
i've got a similar problem, except my compression is 176-180 across the block, i've been trying to do research on it and it sounds like my lower oil control rings are shot. start doing research, its probably your rings or valve seals... or both. im burning a quart of oil every 100 miles or so, so i'm thinking i've got multiple problems.
