S300 Boost control question
Ok I took my S300 Hondata to a shop to get the boost control option installed, and I got it back today. I was just wondering is there any way to tell that the boost control has been installed by opening up ECU and looking inside? I opened mine up and everything looked the same, I don't see anything added inside? Is that only a software upgrade or there should be new hardware inside the ECU?
precision, do you know if that ever came as standard in the s300 at any point, my laptop is down at the mo but i thought i had the function in the editor, or does that function just sit there untill you try to use it and then it tells you that you need more parts?

The updated S manager has the boost capabilities but the socketing and parts are extra when puchasing the s300.

thanks for the reply, i'm not using boost at the minute but the guy i bought it off was turbo so i would think he payed for it when he bought it, just wasn't sure if it was there as standard, i knew you needed to buy it for s100 and 200 guess you have to pay for it with the s300 aswell. cheers
Wait, are you talking about the boost option or boost control?
The s100/200 units originally came in non-boost (s100/s200) and boost(s100b/s200b. The s300 has the boost feature but the boost controller option is an upgrade.
Hondata just lowered the price of the s100b units down to $195 from $450 for those of you interested in the unit

So to clear it up the boost feature is being able to fuel a boosted engine beyond the honda sensor (ie. gm 3 bar map)
The boost option(controller) is the ecu being able to control the boost of the engine.
Thats correct right?

The boost feature allows you to edit fueling/ignition for past 0psi.
And you are correct about the controller. It regulates the boost in conjunction to the wastegate just as other electronic boost controllers do.

Anthony, by modified do you mean those parts have to be replaced with different ones, or are those the parts that have to be inside ecu once boost upgrade is added? I looked inside mine and I have all the components shown.
and thanks for the help

PR4 ecu's already have those components in the ecu. All other ecu's you have to add those in. We've got the components here if any of you guys need them as well as the GM solenoid.
