Tranny noise, any ideas?

Default Tranny noise, any ideas?

ok so when my car is running and the clutch is in everything is nice and quiet, but when i let out the clutch theres a scratching type sound i guess you could call it. i just replaced the clutch pp and tob so im at a loss. any ideas on what it may be? thanks in advance

input shaft bearing. just replaced my tranny because of that. i also drove on it for over a year while making the noise.

Yeah input shaft bearing. Replace that and the main shaft bearing since they both go out hand in hand.

dang, I didnt replace my main shaft. I hope it is ok, lol

I love how people scream TOB when the symptoms point to ISB.

It's an ISB.

Noise with clutch in = TOB
Noise with clutch out = ISB

Its a gear syncro, if it sounds like a grinding sound after a certain rpms. I have the same problem, tranny just bad.

not to jack the thread but i have an issue where my tranny makes noise with the clutch out.

and recently while i driving to work one day, i stepped on the clutch to up shift and the pedal popped a bit. ever since then my clutch has been slipping around the mid rpm range. any idea on what it couldve been?
