obd2 -1 wiring help PLEASE!!!!
Ok helping a guy fix a car thats pretty tore up
96-98 LX
obd-0 B16a
obd1 distributor
obd2-1 conversion harness
chipped ecu
oil is good
now he brought me the car and it was running like total ***.. bogging like no other. Vtec will cross but it straight falls on its face
so i have tried a stock ecu, different conversion harness, and a good distributor and NOTHING
checked all the wiring and fixed a few little things.. so thats ok
NO CEL's
so looking at the distributor wiring and some of the colors didnt line up to my buddies car that i pulled the distributor off of so i changed them to match and now blah car doesnt run.. well i just happen to forget how the wires were before
so on the harness side i have and this is looking at the plug
harness side
top
Yellow with blue
Blue with green
orange with blue
orange
bottom
Blue-yellow
white- blue
white
empty
distributor side
top
yellow-green
blue- green
peach- blue
peach
bottom
blue-yellow
white-blue
white
empty
im almost positive that when the swap was done 1 or 2 of the wires were possibly mixed up.. I need to get these back to right so i can get the car running

Only difference I see with what you have going on there is the locations of the OBD2 wires in the plug. I switched them above....but the colors going are correct.
You have no codes, but do you have spark?

yea it was running before i switched the wires.. no CEL's but it was just bogging bad.. it almost seemed the person that did the swap maybe got a wire mixed up when re pinning the plugs or something..
180 compression
tried a good ecu, distributor , 2 different conversion harness.. wiring is right

obd0 b16 in OBD2 vehicle = ick.
Is there fuel in the car?
What injectors are being used?
you positive the the ecu works?
Have ya tried the OBD1 ecu in another vehicle to single out that ecu isn't the problem here?

yes
yes
it was running when it came to me but very very poor. it was bogging and when vtec would cross it would just basicly fall on its face.. I change the distributor wiring and now it doenst work

Stock OBD0 B16 injectors?
if so, hm, those should technically work with an OBD1 ecu, but you might want to try out a set of OBD1 injectors.
also, are all the ground wires grounded properly? (tranny to frame rail, valve cover to rad support, wire harness grounded to thermostat housing area)

its running ok
NO CEL's but when vtec crosses over its really boggy untill about 6500 ish then it seems to pull ok.. right now its on a stock p30.. I think the car needs a good valve adjustment.. other than that im stumped

yeah you might need some basic tuning right now. Also the older OBD0 B16A engines have really shitty cam profiles, especiall the Auto B16 cams....they really suck. I suggest upgrading to a pair of 92+ B16, 94+ GSR, or even ITR/CTR cams...

im thinking something is wrong with the obd2-1 harness, or maybe a weak distributor</TD></TR></TABLE>
you could be right.
Ignition issues will show crappy engine performance, bogging, lag in power....
Try swapping out the coil and ignitor in the dizzy. And if you didn't know, you can use 92-95 SOHC dizzy coil & ignitors in an OBD1 B-series dizzy...
