I have a 94 civic with a 99 sohc vtech swap. I am having trouble getting it to kick over because of the distributor difference. the one that came with the motor has one rectangular plug with 8 wires and the wiring harness for the previous motor doesnt match up correctly. any ideas?

 

Should have 9 wires total... you need to either solder the new dizzy into the old harness, or make an adapter harness (better option). If you need help with this I just did it, search for OBD1-OBD2 distributor wiring, it was pretty easy to find.

 

i just need to know where teh blue wire goes. i knwo the black/yellow, and where it goes just not the blue

Not to be a dick... but I searched "OBD2 distributor wiring" and it was the 4th link on there...

Anyway no prob, I just had to do this myself.
