air intake question

Default air intake question

i am planning to get an aem cold air intake for my 92 eg 4dr. i am not sure if i should buy it because i have heard stories thaT water can go in the intake and then flow into the engine and harm it. is this common???

Unless you plan to run over some puddles, you don't have to worry too much. The filter is still pretty high off the ground and it's enclosed by your bumper and fender liner. AEM makes an air bypass valve that you can use in conjunction with your AEM CAI.

yea i was thinking about buying a bypass valve as well however i was told it can break easily is this true?

It might, since it also sucks up air from the engine bay. I don't know how it could break. It's a piece of foam with couplings at the ends.

i have a front kit and its a pretty open area so water could get in their how high would u say the filter is

I wouldn't know personally. I'd estimate around a foot.
