Default cutting your intake?..

hi, i just bought a AEM bypass valve for my CAI and wanted to know if i defenitly have cut my intake to install the bypass valve for my cold air intake....

cause ima little iffy on the part of cutting my intake...

my AEM cold Air intake came in two pieces and seems like you can just put the bypass valve where the pipes connect...it just seems...i dunno..i'm just asking...
the one inlet pipe is 2.5" (conencted to the engine) in diameter and the other is 2.75" "connected to the filter"...the bypass valve is for 2.75 piping..

pm me if you are willing to help...and i already knoe about how the bypass vlave causes a loss of power...dont remind me...

Well they work for small amounts of water that happen to enter the intake, but if you drive through a ****** lake (read: SARCASM) of course it's not going to be able to dispense all the water.
