Default IACV TEST?

Is there a voltage test that I can perform to see if the IACV is functioning properly?

Yeah, but I wouldn't exactly trust it.

IACV's usually aren't functional b/c they get clogged (the mech part), usually it's not because of the electrical part (although sometimes it is). Your first step would be to check if it's the IACV for sure, buy a new gasket and swap it with a friend's temporarily. If it doesn't fix the problem, no sense in going any further there. If it does, you can give him his back and try cleaning it 'n ****..but if it doesn't work, might wanna get a new one.

put 12 volts on it, it should click open, there is no specific voltage the ECU sends to the IACV it is duty controlled

12V to the positive wire to get it to "click" if it clicks, its ok, next thing to check according to manual is ECU, a driver in the ecu could go bad.

Good luck on fixing this issue. I've had an IACV issue for years, nobody can fix it, I've been to regular mechanics, mechaics at "performance shops" and followed every test in the book except try another ecu.

I have my ecu chipped for hondata, running 1000cc injectors and I don't know anyone with similar parameters that could let me use their ECU to try it. If their ecu can't run my 1000cc injectors, I'll then have a different idle issue.

I gave up, unplugged the IACV wires, and car runs perfect. I just have a check engine light now.

I have also tried 3 other used IACV's with no change in issue.

Try a common 9 Volt battery. That Iacv is just an ordinary solenoid so this little battery should be able to operate it. you should hear a clicking sound. Revervse polarity if it does not work. This 9v battery does not have enough juice to mess your solenoid.
I tried this little sucker to test my side mirrors and it worked.

Do not try hooking up your Car battery to it. NOT SAFE.

Hi Guys,
I have an IACV problem. I have the three pin IACV. IF switch the ignition key on, it clicks like it wants to open and closes immediately. Is this usual or will it say open. If start engine, idling is poor. Engine can't take load on idling. I have turbo charged setup and recently changed Intake manifold to one that cannot take IACV. So I have relocated the IACV.
