Default all this stealing civics stuff...

just ridiculous already...

i just picked up a clean 97 ex coupe w/ manual trans (after i vowed to never own a honda when my bone stock lo-mile b17 gs-r was taken from my driveway while all 4 of us were home)...now im starting to wonder if maybe it wasnt such a good move?

so i ask,
are SOHC VTEC civics more likely to be a target for thieves than non VTEC?

thieves think in what will get them more money...not what is a better design...not too many people are wanting to swap a y8 in their civic...but who knows with thieves these days.

Maybe a little, but theives will take what they can get. It's the sad truth, and I am lucky that I have owned my car for over 5 years now and have not had a stolen part. And my car is an easy target.

if it draws their attention probably but if not then you should be fine. As for th gsr the more people that know and then eventually word just spreads and the theif can be anyone. I remember my friend telling me about his friend that he had stole his other friends crx with a turbo b16 which he had originally helped him swap in and turbo. Now thats FUCKED up but you never know who the thief could be so always try to caue the least amount of attention, otherwise hook up kill switchs to fuel pump and almost everything and have an alarm w/ pager and back-up battery otherwise kiss your civic goodbye sooner or later

stupid thieves. I work at a dealership and we have to park a block away from the store. Im buddies civic got broken into. Ignition completly messed up, and the radio was taken. That is why my sol is going to be a sleeper. Plus a kick *** alarm.

If your car is stock in both apperance and no mods, then not really. If you rip around your neighborhood and town acting like a badass, then that increases the chance that it might get stolen especially if it is modded.
If you do mod it dont go around saying that it is.

lol, i dunno why but that made me laugh. i think because i was thinking that putting DX badging on my car wasnt a bad idea to make it less desireable...then after i read that i realized yea...it has a sunroof, and color matched everything....i'm dumb.

who knows what Thieves are looking for man. My 93 Civic hatch, stock DX was stolen from a mall. Cops found the car 2 weeks later in a parking lot....morons got some good stuff like my cd player, speakers....but then they took random stuff like my crappy spare tire, and my AEM air filter, but not the pipe part [not smart enough to take it off I guess]....my e-brake handle and shift ****....left all the expensive things like CF hood and wheels....

who knows man? who knows?

my 92 hatch has a sunroof and its a dx not sure if it factory though. And when my car was 99 SI blue it got broken into 6 times. Now its primer black lowerd with steelies and it seems i dont even have to lock the doors. Moral of the story is dont make your car flashy if you want to keep whats inside or even the car its self.
