Default Bump Stop

I am not sure if this may be the reason why my car bounces so much after intalling my new coil overs, but I left the bump stops as they were and didn't cut them in half, could this be the reason why my car bounces like a basket ball? I tested the shocks and they are fine I push them down and they come right back up. Can anyone help me out with this one?

oem shocks or aftermarket? How low are your coil overs set? If you have stock shocks they may not be stiff enough to stop your car from bouncing...

edit: didn't you just post this?

My shocks are stock. I am talking about Bump Stop. The little Orange rubber thing that is inbetween the dust cap and the shock cavity.

how easily are you being able to push these shocks around? When I did the springs on my civic it was not easy to push the shocks around at all.

What springs are you using? The shocks may still be okay, but the spring rate may just be too high for the stock shocks.

If still using unaltered bumpstops, generally lowering even the slightest amount will make your car basically sit on them. When lowering, it's usually good to either cut them, or get some bumpstops (from Truechoice) that are shorter. Riding the bumpstops will make your car ride like utter ****.

And so will riding on shocks that aren't well matched to the springs you are using. I, too, forgot to mention something.

you can try putting zip-ties on the shock shaft and see if it gets pressed all the way up the shaft (not my tip, stole it from someone here on HT). this will let you know if the shock is bottoming out on the bump stop.

whoa, dont REMOVE the bump stop, cut it, you need it there so when the suspension fully compresses you dont destroy the shock by blowing out through it......
