Default Need Help My RPM Gauge on my Cluster Jumps back and forth.

Like the title says my Tach on my stock cluster jumps back and forth while i am just crusin, It started doing this a month later after i did my swap. I cant figure out why it is doin this. If anyone know please let me know i will be very thankful.

make sure you have enough oil in your tranny, and check the speed sensor wires.
sometimes the wires tend to back out of the clip.

He said the tach, not the speedo. Maybe the wire shorting out on something, or the tach going bad???

This happened to 2 of my friends and it turned out to be bad dizzy's on both of them. Hope this helps

Check for a bad dizzy. Usually when the ignitor is on it's way out, the tach tells you by acting wonky.

yeah check the dizzy and the wiring from the dizzy to the ecu and cluster for any breaks.

What the hell is a dizzy (distributor )
and YES ITS THE IGNITOR. Had personal experience with it 2 times now on 2 cars and had a friend with the problem. Also look at the coil at the same time the distributor is apart. Mine was also changed at the same time.

What a lot of people forget to mention is the distributor o-ring. After a while they need to be replaced like just any other gasket. If your leaking oil into the distributor this would cause these symptoms maybe even hesitation.

Don't get me wrong it could very well be the ignitor or even the female conectors being lose attaching to the ignitor.
