Starter is on top of the tranny. Throttle is on the intake manifold.

Why do you have to jump the starter? Can't you just turn the crank over a few times?

if you can turn it though, thats not a good sign

get yourself a battery and some jumper cables. twist the two wires on the starter together and connect the positive cable to the starter. clamp the negative to something like the motor mount and viola. make sure theres oil in the motor.

or u could just do a leakdown test...much more accurate, and u can do it while the motor is on an engine stand if u wanted to....if u want more info on how to do it, just search i am sure u will find what u need...u can prolly get a cheap air compressor from pep boys or sumthin for like 40 bucks...

Your first remark that i quoted came off to me as sarcastic, as if doing it by hand was a bad idea. So i suggested the wrench because obviously by hand isn't a bad idea. Excuse me if thats what you meant by using his hand. So relax, no need for the namecalling. Unless of course you're in middle school.
