Default Compression test with out a starter?

im looking to buy a motor which is only in a front clip. Im wondering, can you can do a compression test on the engine just by turning the crankshaft?

Quite possible if you can turn the crankshaft by hand equal to the turrning speed of a starter-----------approx 250 rpm
YOu could perform a leakdown test, but to get accurate results you want to do them with the engine at operating temp

get a jumper pack and a remote starter, it will spin the motor enough for you to do a compression test
