compression test on a motor ..
was wondering if it was possible to do a leak down and compression test on a motor that has already been taken out of a car?
asking b/c the seller said the motor is out of the wrecked car and that I can do a compression test on the motor before i purchase it.

you can hook up a battery to the starter and have it crank it, hold the t/b open, but the readings wont be precise since your supposed to do it when the motors warm. make sure there oil in there
