Default Water is getting inside civic HELP! Smells like wet cats!

Damnit after doing a U turn, I scraped the living crap out of the fender plastic thingy that goes over your wheels. So i pulled it out. After driving in the rain the other day, I enter my car and it smells like a family of wet cats in a cardboard box. The smell is horrible and it is repelling females away from my car.

What can i do to resolve this isseu

This happened to my civic over the winter too. It took a while for the smell to go away too, but it did.

When you're home, and it's nice and sunny out...go open up all your windows and let air get into the car. Do this as much as possible unless you're afraid of someone tampering with things. I also took a bottle of febreeze and sprayed down my seats and carpet. Then i bought some air fresheners.

Find the leak... and seal it up!! Then do what B18B1_4DR said. The hardest part is the fist though... gl

Get the parts form Honda or a U-pull it, and put them back in. They are supose to keep water out of the engine bay, and the car.

pull the carpet out of the car and wash it down with some clothes soap and a hose. put the inner fender back in it. put carpet back in and the smell will be gone.
p.s. you should just throw the padding away too. that **** never gets clean smelling.

To bad it never does

Buy some of that Frebreeze anti-bacterial, works like a charm when my targa leaks.

Word, LoL, it's repellin the females away from your car...and they're going towards that piece of **** domestic '06 Z06, right? Yeah, it's the smell, keep tellin urself that :-P

Alright I'm just messin with ya. I had the same problem in my GTI from a stone chip. Everytime I drove it in the rain the rear floor mat would be soaked. So I waited until it was dry, pulled up the carpetting, then had a friend spray it w/ a hose until I found the crack, I sealed it up, then laid it out to dry....just about every night/day I left it w/ windows and everything open and a vacuum in their (a blower vacuum) blowing air into the carpet that was pulled up.

It dryed out, hasn't leaked sense...

Although mine didn't smell.
