Default Throttle Response

just got my car back from the shop..had 8 bent valves..all fixed and runs good except throttle response is really bad...on 3rd and 4th the rpm laggs and doesnt jump as usually it takes a couple of seconds before it does it. is it the idle screw the flat one on the throttle or is it the wire for the throttle...any help will be appreciated.

Idle screw wouldn't effect how your car runs above idle. Maybe the mechanic didn't get your timing quite right after reassembly

What invadertraxx said...or
what does the slack on your throttle cable look like? Maybe you had it tighter then stock before you sent it to the mech's?

Just wondering how do you know if you have bent valves. I think I might have them too in my h23a as the engine idle doesn't sound so quiet. It sounds the same as before and after I did the engine swap, so could it be an external part. Are the 4th gens normally really loud idling cars.

bent valves....do a compression test or leak down test and it will tell the results if theres nothing wrong with the tests its mostly ignition

alrite did timing and is now fine...how is there a bad valve adjustment...my motor has ticking noise but sounds mostly like my injectors...should i do another valve adjustment?

Because if the valves are too loose your car will accelerate like its stuck in mud,no power whatso ever. I dont know if thats your problem, Im just shooting out ideas.

Yeah, I also vote for timing or valve lash. Double check those things for sure...
