Default poping out of gear

i recently opened the tranny to replace the isb...common prob in honda trannies. the tranny is a y1 b16 jdm. i replace the isb with one from a cable ls tranny.

it keeps poping out of gear. so that same day i ripped the tranny out and apart again.

i found the opposite man bearing smoked (somehow got some metal in it.

the syncro hub was also worn from this as well.

the problem i noticed is that the main sit higher than thecounter shaft. any inputs on why. here is what i think:

isb did not seat properly

spring washer incorect(but there is a 3/32 diff) dont think this would do that

or the counter is not shimmed enough. kindof dought this also. i have yet to pull the main and counter due to the fac that the clock seems to speed up faster and faster.

thanks.

thanks for the bump.

i thought about it and the counter shaft will come up aways after the c clip ring seats correctly in the grove of the counter bearing. so...hopefully it is that the rear main shaft bearing was bad.

it is ordered and iwill take a few days to get.

closer inspection reveals that the bearing has to go in a certain way to support thrust load. i put it in upside down. dammit
