yeah. over like 3 grand it makes this god awful rattling noise.

anyone else have this happen before? maybe my linkage is loose or my tranny is fucked up?

shift forks wearing out?

 

shifter making a rattle feeling would more then likely be a bushing either on the shifter (linkage) extenstion rod etc.. If your feeling a bad vibration on the shifter assemblely this is what i would check.

Describe more of where and what the rattle sounds like to you.

it sounds like a baby rattle..

 

same problem

it rattles around 2k - 2.6k

and 5k - 5.4k

My mechanic told me it was the shift linkage or something to that extend.

 

i have the same problem, guys told me to change shifter bushings and engine mounts i guess! still didnt change them, check energy suspension

 

does your shifter, from where you shift the (rod) have a washer on it? check that.

 

id check this. washer probably got loose. just need to re-tighten again.

 

Shifter parts loosen. Check the shifter bushing first. I really doubt a shifter rattle has anything to do with the trans.
