Default short shifter making noise

I just installed a skunk 2 short shifter with es shifter bushings. and most of the time when its in gear usually in 5th and i let go of the gas i hear kinda of a rattling noise is this normal or did i install it wrong. someone told me its because i got es shifter bushings and its stiffer then oem, is there anyway i can stop that noise?

i would try thicker bushings on the joint collar, that might help. Good luck.

most short shifters do it , B&M's are notorious for rattling . stick some washers in between the sides of the bushings and the shift linkage , might help.

b&m rocks!

actually try finding some rubber washers they help a lot expecially if you have a swap. Mine still kills me at 4000 -4700 rpmsa

check to make sure your exhaust isn't rubbing on anything. i ended up taking the heat shield out for more clearance.

The shifter hits the exhaust in 5th gear on my brothers car. The EK's have the gay counterweighed shift linkage. Its normal...thats probably the rattling you are hearing.

Almost everyone ive talked to that owns a 96-00 civic has had rattling problems with their Skunk2 shifters.

Why mess with perfection.

it is the counterweight on the shift linkage hitting the exhaust. mine does. just cut the extra off
