cut doors

Default cut doors

Has anybody removed there side impact beams from there doors to save weight?

its easy way to reduce weight only issue is the door become flimsy but overall it not bad way to reduce weight quickly

i think its a good way to say weight and i havent had any problem with the door becoming flimsy

remove unnecessary brackets throughout whole car, get crazy with the plasma on the bumper supports, clean up the wiring harness, remove sound deadening stuff under carpet, remove heater, remove thick black mat on firewall

never actually weighed them by themselves...just had everything in a box that i took out for the day...i would say like 8-10lbs. each

How is removing the beams an easy task since there tack welded to the door?

just have to drill out the spot welds and cut the bar in half and cut out a little bit of the door to slip out the bar once you cut it
