Default just bought my s2k!

whats up guys just signed up. picked up my 02 s2000 silver/black interior with 27000 miles. i absolutely love the car. its immaculate shape. only had 1 owner. seems like i grinded second once or twice, maybe it was driver error though. everthing else is good. took me a few minutes to find the gas cap release though. only thing im probably gonna do it is put an intake on it. so far i took the top piece off the air box to open up the vtec a bit. im thinking of going with the aem cold air intake. my only concern is here in florida it rains alot, i dont want to hydrolock. give me your input. thanks.

ive heard the stock intake is fairly efficent. and it looks like if you want to buy an intake just go with something like J's (1000+$). and you can get a valve peice that goes between the two pipes so if the filter is submerged in water. it can breathe still. through the center of the pipe

The day i spend $1000+ dollars on an intake is a day that no pigs will die.

i see systems from aem, injen, and competch for under $400. This is the only mod i plan on doing for a while. Whats your views on those brands?

first put the stock air intake box cover back on.......

AEM is fine,Comptech is also nice.....and so are most of the filters on sticks......wont really net any major power, but will give you the vtec crossover sound you are looking for......

Go ahead and get a k&N FIPK intake , you will absolutly love it and the sounds it makes. Power wise its proven some gains but dont expect to feel anything. Its where your stock box would be so dont fear hydrolocking. btw it sounds great.

for 400$ or less i think it sbasicly just noise. if anything just a point or two. verry minor. s2000's were pushed from the factory. try looking up cams. not many around i was looking into an s2k as a stock daily driver. somethign i could push to not mod. when i found out how they are pushed and how it is so expensive to get something that does add. kinda helps. im not forkin 1grand for an intake and 1400$ for a header lol.

thats as much as the motor for my rex is costin
