Is this b20 messed up?
Hey quick question, My friend just installed a b20 in is eg (cx). I don't know if your suppose to add extra wiring or sensor or what ever for a b20 swap. When he started it up it shake pretty bad and idle like a v8. The motor drives like crap. It so freaking slow, rpm sound right but the car doesn't go no where. My stock crx si can take him so bad. I know thats not a lot to go by. Any clue what the hell it could be?
sounds like the injectors might be faulty, but you have to be a bit more specific, did you use an ls harness (it should help but remember get an obd1 harness) I had the same problem with a single cam that was parked for 5years and after cleaning out the injectors it ran perfect.
first off, if it's like the vtec bseries, you have to add the wires for the o2 sensor. i believe the cx comes with 2 wires, the bseries run on 4 wires.
second, what harness is he using and what ecu is he running?

MAP and TPS plugs switched by chance?

no it doesn't, nor does a B20 engine. don't worry about VTEC. what you need to check is ECU compatibility (some stock P06 or whatever isn't gonna do the job) and check injector and ignition wiring again. that O2 sensor to 4wire is required too. also, i believe there's a knock sensor for B20's.
No on the knock sensors for the b20b. The higher compression b20z or JDM 99 on b20b's have a knock sensor. The O2 sensors will not cause this problem. I'm not saying they are not required, but they are not currently causing this problem. You should be using an obd1 p75 or computer alike.

like already mentioned:
injectors
firing order
make sure distributor cap and rotor are clean
spark plugs and wires
That's assuming there is no CELs

all this crap about ECU's and harnesses is making me sick, it doesn't sound like that AT ALL... Did you change the plugs/wires? Are you using the right fuel injectors? Is the timing right?
It sounds like it's missing, I'd doubt it's an ECU problem, the only other electrical problem like that it could is if the harness isn't compatible w/ the injectors...which I doubt is the problem b/c it's running..
That's what I"d look at first..check the timing, and look at the plugs/wires/dizzy...I'm not sure what kind of FI's it uses, but check to make sure they're the right ones or it could be starving on gas..(running too lean)
Or hte only other ECU problem it could be is it's not running the basemap for the B20 therefore not enough/too much fuel is being pumped per cycle

I want to thank everyone for the help. All I'm doing is trying to help my friend out. He had a gsr motor in the car before. I for sure hes running a p75 now. He bought the motor off some guy that crash is eg and had it sitting for like 2 years. We will check over the motor again. If thats not it then he just been fucked over.
