hello to all, I've never posted before because most of the info i needed has always been in the archives, but I've come across a new problem that needs a lil more help.

I was out cruisin one day and happened to take it to redline and past 6k rpm's, you could tell there was a serious problem because it was bogging in a major way. im sure it had something to do with the vtec considering when and where the problem was. so next thing you know here comes my check engine light, so i bust the paperclip test, and find out that itsa my vtec oil pressure switch.

I was curious if anybody has ever come across this problem, and what you recommend be done, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

btw, all i have is a AEM CAI.

 

yeah i got a code 22, i think that's vtec oil pressure, well this was back in the summer. my vtec selenoid was bad and i got it replaced by the shop that built my head. problem solved no more code, for that time being.

 

How is your oil level? Gotta have pressure to activate VTEC.

 

Currently having the same problem. The ECU blinked code 22. I had the same reaction from my 99 giser(GSR) except the car would not rev past 5000 rpm, then check engine light came on. My friend was driving my car at the time and he put the car in N, turned the car off, and back on. The car drove fine for the rest of the day, an autocross event.
