d16turbo vs all motor b16

Default d16turbo vs all motor b16

ok heres my question i'm plaining to boost my d16y8 some people are all for it and they tell me is going to make alot of power if tune it right but other people tell me that even if i turbo my car a b16 will still be faster and that i should just du a swap,, wat du u guys think?????

b16 stock vs d16 tubo'd..

d16 will be better boosted hands down

i used to lose to eg's with d16y8, against my 99 civic si.... many years ago i might add!!

were they stock d16y8? either way if you were driving em1 you probably wasn't driving it right.

hmmm...tough call, how about b16 turbo? now that's something to consider.

I havent ever been beat by a single cam turbo.. or h22 swapped hatchs

a turbo y8 will be much faster then a b16, and still considerably faster tehna not stock b16. and it will be about half the cost.

anything turbo is more fun, and stock d16 turbo vs stock n/a b16 the b16 would be done.... stay sohc go b later

i hear bad things about y8 bottom ends, look into it

do u realize how lil power stock b16's put down

they put out just a lil more than y8's have at the flywheel

i've seen a couple dyno pics of stock b16's
any1 have some?

yep true...i've raced my stock Y8 against a bone stock EM1...the em1 doesn't really start to pull untill 3rd...and it doesn't pull away too fast...

coming from someone who has a boosted d16...if you have the money to get it tuned properly and the ocuntless hours to screw with it then do that....if not, or your looking for something quick and cheaper go b16....thats why im trading the ek for the fg....fast out of the box and i was tired of dumping money into the damn turbo to get the car running right.

by cheaper i meant cheaper in the long run....d series is cheaper up front but your going to spend thousands buying all the right parts and thousands more trying to figure it out when something goes wrong
