You just hear the secondaries opening up. The GSR crossover is quieter than let's say a B16, or in your case H22.</TD></TR></TABLE>
hmm my stock gs-r vtec crossover is pretty loud. louder than the few b16's ive ridden in... soo i think your BS
and my stock gs-r vtec crossover is at 6.
my powerban starts around 4500
if your vtec kicks in at 4400 rpm's you have a problem. theres a reason honda set vtec at a specific point.
As you probably already know, DO NOT ******* ENGAGE VTEC BELOW 4400 RPM WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF TUNING; it's only going to hurt your engine and you'll see no performance gain. Vtec (Variable valve timing and electronic control) engages to open larger lobes on the camshaft to allow for deeper breathing (valve lift) supplying the engine with more oxygen as the RPM band deems it fit. You will not need it to engage any sooner as the deeper breathing is not neccessary- this concept was specifically engineered for higher rpms and I've never seen it "crack" before 4400 with significant gains. I suggest you buy a P28, P29, or P30 ecu from ebay with a skunk2 chip. You'll notice significant increases with their programming and from there you'll be able to learn and research how these EPROM chips work and control your computer and maybe some day you'll start tuning Uberdata. Or, you could buy a VAFC controller and start from there.

lol noob. a GSR's vtec kicks in at 4.4k, but the IM is still in promary mode, the secondaries open at 6k, unleashing way more noise and you're mistaking this for vtec.

Haven't driven my car in a long time but it's somewhere around 5500 RPM... I don't remember. No matter, you won't feel squat with a d series VTEC, the crossover isn't nearly as noticeable as with a dual cam.

would intake help me hear it? i just want to make sure its working, since i still have 27 days left on warrenty and i want to have it right.
found an oil leak, before i took it home, they said the cleaned it and checke,d i go home park it, leave in neutrla and rev it, look under, see oil, stick head under car,a dn the oil pan look like its gaskted has melted out lol, and the oil is dust ridden and probly all atleast 2 years old, they didnt clean **** down there....
I'm hoping all it is is oil pan leak, and not tranny to block gasket or rear main seal...
