Subwoofer bass on and off.. what could be the problem?
today i finally rewire the RCA cable and when i pulled the old one off, i accidently torn the tiny blue wire apart. so i reconnected everything and the bass stays when the car is not moving, but while im driving, the bass always come on and off. what could the problem be?
Well it's a good bet it's a loose connection, try turning on the system and then moving the wiring, [power, ground, amp control, RCAs and speaker leads] on the amp around a bit, tap hard on the amp itself.
The other thing I would check is the main power fuse, [by the batt.] if it is an "AGU" fuse holder, like this... http://www.scosche.com/efx.asp...P8FHI replace the fuse, even if it looks good, the AGU, [glass barrel fuse] the fuse filament can break or the fuse can get hot enough, [sub bass cranked] to melt the solder that connects the filament to the end caps.

uh.. get new RCA's if you tore them apart..?

the one i torn apart was actually the remote wire. i connected them back to harnness and it worked fine!!
and i think i found the reason why the bass came on and off!@!!!! it might sound ridiculous tho..
so today the bass completely went dead. so i was about to double check the wire tomorrow to make sure its a loose connection. so after i got off work at night. i started my car and turned on the headlight. i noticed that the driver side headlight is not producing light. then i got off the car and took a look at it and the bulb came off from the headlight bracket and it was hanging there. the plastic got deform.. therefore, i took off the bulb to prevent more damage to the headlight housing... suprisingly my amp came back to normal and the bass stays on OMG!! this is so ridiculous.... how could that affect the amplifier?

i assume people would know the little blue wire is the remote wire. anyway, the new RCA cable (stinger dream) doesnt have any blue wire. its all blk and purple.

its got nothing to do with the headlight, the light bulb just came off and was hanging on the housing. it was burning the housing so i removed the bulb

I thought you meant the bulb plug was melted, indicating a short...

1. It's common sense that "the little blue wire" is remote wire.
2. Not all rca's have a blue wire "jackass".
