200+ ideally.. But anywhere from 170-200 is good AS LONG AS all cylinders are within 10 of each other.

either that or bent valves. You might not have done it correctly either. The engine must be warm and the gas pedal all the way in (throttle body open all the way)

unplug ur fuel injectors also, hold throttle wide open, and make sure ur engine is warm, let it crank about 5 times

Crank until it doesnt seem to increase anymore, a LS should he 180-190

as long as your results are consistent and within 10-15% of each other, your engine is fine.

Loss of compression is either bad rings or bent valves, or bad valve seals. But if u know any history of the engine, it might help.

would the compression change if I replace the pistons with PR3's?

i think it would only change if u would change the pistons to either high or low compression pistons with head work. Also the thickness or ur head gasket.

if ur refering to the pr3's from a b16, it will be high compression since b16's are 10 to 1 compression stock. High rev, no torque. Ur LS is a torque motor, get LS pistons if u wanna feel the power

well, i have a 2000 si w/b16a2. i guess i have the pr3's ur talking about since they're stock. Well, my compression is 10:1. 160hp, 116lbtq. and i have to use 91 octane gas or higher or else my engine will knock.
My friend has a LS with the b18b1. Rated 140hp i think with 128lbtq. Low compression which i believe is 9:1. it redlines at 6800 while my car redlines at 8000. Its pretty much if u have low compression, u have more tq than a high compression. i mean the LS integra has mor tq than a GSR. But less than a Type R. I believe GSR have 126, and Type Rs have 132. Well, thats pretty much what i know.

pr3's will give you high compression, you might feel a slight power gain, but with high compression comes high octane gas, otherwise you will be looking at detonation, also I would not rev a stock LS bottom end past 7500rpm and really 7500rpm is pushing it, the rods are a bit weak, but the torque on it is fantastic, personally I would go ahead and run a small turbo with like 7psi, it would give you the bump in hp like a vtec motor and turbo's are fun especially an ls turbo

the rods are fine. its the rod bolts that are the weak link in most honda motors
if you have arp rod bolts you can rev to 7500

jdm bullshit: with those compression numbers your motor is fine
