Default Whole mess of problems, opinions needed.

Well Long story short I bought a 1995 Del Sol S while looking for a shell to build off of, and the one I found had a D16Y7/Z6 minime in it. Ok cool I thought, and I went from there. Picked up the car, and the headgasket was either blown and he hid it very well or I blew it on the way across town. Either way it needed to be fixed. We went through the gasket install and it didn't leak and the fluids didn't mix again so it was apparent that the head wasn't warped.

Next it needed front drivetrain work, which included a wheel bearing and wheel studs. That was done and we got that all back together.

Finally it had some heater hoses that were bubbled around the connections, and one sprung a leak while test driving it the other night. I had the hose handy so we replaced it and tried to bleed the coolant system. This is where after 20 minutes of bleeding not very much coolant was coming out, fan was kicking on, and shortly after the temp gauge went towards the H. I turned it off with the thought that the thermostat was bad and changed that.

Now today my friend bled the system, and while still not a lot of coolant came out, it didn't get nearly as close to overheating so she took it out for a test drive around the block. When she got back she had noticed that the coolant resevoir was empty.

This is where I need opinions. The headgasket was blown, so I know there is some stuff from that still in the system but this would only explain the slightly higher than normal temps. Any ideas about the consumption of coolant?

the headgasket being blown would be more the problem since coolant is being burned off...

its possible that the coolant system wasn't completely bled, so it took some coolant from the overflow tank... try refilling it

All I know is for some reason it is taking forever to bleed the system. When it nearly overheate it was going on 20-30 minutes running with the bleeder valve open. Might have to try it the messy way with the rad cap open

We'll try it by way of burping the system, but I think we're gonna try replacing all the hoses at once so we don't have to keep bleeding it all the time. This seems like the best course of action since she mentioned she could hear a slight whistle (pinhole leak in a hose somewhere) and the fluids haven't mixed like what would be evident with a bad headgasket.

It's on hold for now though, just getting some ideas for when I can get back into it

Besides, I am 100+ miles away from the car at the moment since it is at a friend's house. I'm just gonna let it go for now and work in secrecy on it for Vegas Invasion, Eibach and CRXpo next year

If it bleeds more and still loses coolant and we can't find a leak I'm just gonna swap the bitch. The car has already earned the name SSiVTEC for having parts from every USDM sol model, so I might as well swap in a B16 or something
