I recently had a problem with my SSQV, the c-clip that holds the BOV in place on the flange was a little too big...i got that problem solved, and i got the BOV in the flange now with the o-ring in place

but my question is, that the bov isnt really that tight in place inside the flange, i can spin it around by hand....i'm just afraid that its going to leak boost once i get my turbo kit installed

 

it probably depends how much boost your going to run..but its still probably a good idea to find a way to tighten it

 

well i mean, there isnt really another way to tighten it

its only held in place by the clip...i guess i could always throw some JBweld around where the clip is

 

its fine...my friend's spins around too...he has no boost leak problems

 

the BOV should not spin around once the snap ring is installed.......something is not right......maybe you put the snapring upside-down?

there is no up or down its all the same. a c-clip holds the bov down.

 

on C clips some there is a up and down, i used to work at Vortech, i use to make blow off valves, if its the same kinda snap ring, then one side should be completely flat and the other side a lil rounded, your going to want to use the flat side when installing, hope that helps, im not saying im right but its worth a shot

when i got it, both sides were flat..

i'm just gonna get someone to pressure test it before i put it on and hit the dyno

on my HKS SSQV BOV the instructions said to install the snap ring the right side up. both sides are NOT flat. one side has a "bump" on it and i "think" it said it must face up or the BOV will not seal correctly....

someone with the instruction sheet should be able to tell you for sure.....

well i might need to go double check the clip then.

Are you sure it was too big? If it came with the BOV im pretty sure it was the right size.... you need to take the outer housing off to install the HKS bov with the snapring, the one that you didnt use is the correct one, use it and u will have no more issues....idk if there is an up down, mine was perfectly flat

My HKS SSQV is does not spin either.

 

there was no way the clip would even go into the flange. even with the snap ring pliers...

if it leaks then i'll take some JB quick, and slap it around the base of the BOV so it can't leak anymore
