All right i searched about the prelude transmission but i am still not sure if it would be my synchro that is blown. My gears seem to grind whenever i shift into thirs above a certain rpm think above about 4000. I was wondering if it could be my synchros even though the grinding starts while my clutch is still all the way in. A friend of mine told me it could be just that my transmission isnt aligned right but it seems as if the syncros would make since because of the fact it only happens over 4000 rpms. Just wondering if it matters that it happens before the clutch is being released. Shoots.

well im on my 2nd transmission now and its doing this also. The synchros are going out. My last trans starting grinding third then eventually started to lock me out of it if i was revving it hard and shifting. It eventually started to not even hold 3rd gear just kept popping out. You dont need a new trans right away but it is slowly but surely going out on you.

 

try GM syncromesh....it could cure the problem for awhile....
or try a redline mtl
