ummm, whats wrong with the ECU you have? you could chip that, but I dont think you would be spending your money wisely. Usually you chip an ECU for more complex upgrades.

Try searching and finding the other countless threads like this one, maybe they have an answer for you.

nothin, you just need a new ecu, and if you get a chipped one with basemap and your car may be a little off until you get it tuned. Like my idle sat at 2.5 when I first start my car after the ecu, but everything ran hella better with it.

I am not sure what you just said, but it sparked my interest. Did you chip your ECU with just bolt on upgrades, and get a big difference?

if you want to make power, and not spend money, then go get totally wasted, passout, and start dreaming.

You should save your money for a turbo or a swap, those are just about the only reasonable ways to make some repectable power.

If I were you, I would just stick with what you have, save your money, then do it all at once.

And you can make a y8 a V8 killer.

buy a spare d16z6 head. Buy a crower cam and valvesprings. Take the head to a machine shop and have it milled .040. Then have the shop put it all together. Put that on your engine with a chip from j-k-tuning.com or phearable.net....then get it tuned and cut much ***.

honestly, there is not really any other way. You can get minimal gains from things like underdrive pulleys, chips, and other little stuff, but if you want more than those, then you need to save your money. You can bolt stuff on all you want, but that stuff will just be kind of a waste of money. If you want to have a faster car, and dont want to spend alot of money, look into weight reduction. Not a huge difference, but it helps and it is free. I had a stock si del sol, and I swapped that engine into my CX hatch, added some bolt ons, and the weight difference helped alot. My car will surprise people. Look into some suspension mods, there is more to driving then going fast you know

chip the ecu instead of getting a new one because one day you might go turbo. then you dont have to worry about it.
